I finally got my first of the year after 11 long, grueling hours of non stop fishing. Fished miltona Friday for the first half of the day. Had two lazy follows (mid 40's fish) and had one come up and chase a hooked bass. Tried to get that fish interested in a curly sue at boatside. No luck.

At 6pm went to my secret nearby Muskie lake and threw until 7:16, when this girl took a black and silver shallow depthraider. Strike was mild but that changed once she realized she wasn't in control. She made 3 great runs before I got her boatside. After seeing the net, she bolted down and away, hard. She did that three more times before we got her in the stowmaster livewell. My buddy took pics with his digital camera and we got them developed at walmart already. I was so concerned about getting the fish back in the water quickly I didn't get a pic with my cellphone. I did take a pic of the picture (came out ok) so I could email it.

I don't know how to post pics on here. Can anyone help me get it posted? I don't have my laptop and have been posting and emailing with my iPhone.

Randy

Ps, fished west battle yesterday and had a very smallusky chase a black and orange cowgirl. The lure looked bigger than the fish. This morning we fished Mary and caught 2 limits of walleyes in 2 1/2 hours. Gonna fish muskies later tonight.

Are you reffering to the wounds on her shoulder/side? These are common marks that happen during mating prior to spawn. If you look closely to other pictures of recent fish caught, you will see similar marks too.

Randy,

Did you catch that fish with Bruce from Walleye Dan's Guide group? Nice start to the season.
