Location: sauk rapids, mn | I was on Lake Alexander for the first time this year today. Light wind, bright sun and clear water. Not a great recipe for good fishing. I managed 3 follows, all 3 fish were over 40". One was on a bass spinnerbait. The fish was on it so hard and close, it had to get tickled by the lure's dress!! But no bite. We saw a total of 11 fish. They were all in shallow water, just above the milfoil,2 feet from the surface. We threw everything we could, but did not draw any interest. Oh well, what fun to see this majestic fish all over the lake. Can't wait to get back at it! NO5HOLE | |

Location: sauk rapids, mn | Yes, my son threw topwater almost the whole time. Jackpots, buzzbaits, top raiders, just about all we had. | |

Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | funny you should mention a bass colored spinnerbait. I was on miltona today and moved a low 40's fish on a shack attacks baby bass 9" curly sue. It was a real LAZY follow. I think he was just curious more than anything. After that, my fishing buddy caught a 3lb bass. As he was reeling it in (he was using a jig and worm, targeting bass), he said he wondered if a ski would chase his bass and I should be prepared to drop my lure and figure 8.
Next thing I know, mr musky comes HOT for this bass. He lifts the bass into the boat as I drop my lure and start the figure 8. Fish goes under the boat, and I was waiting for him to pounce. Of course I'm still waiting......
We threw green the rest of the day while on miltona. Two more follows. No bites. Bottom line, these muskies are feeding right now on bass!!!

| They are opportunistic feeders. They see a struggling fish in the water and they get curious and follow it. It could have been a walleye, northern, sunfish, crappie, etc., etc, and the fish would have followed. It just happened to be a bass that your buddy was reeling in. Coincidence? In my opinion I think so. | |
