Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | just curious to see if anyone knows about this restriction.
In particular, I was wondering if this restriction is solely with regards to fishing from a boat, or does this include shore fishing as well? If so, what time does the shore fishing restriction expire (can I fish from shore early morning, let's say 5am, before sunrise)?
Thanks in advance if anyone has the answer.

| Hi Randy, I've fished at night on metro lakes. The cops wait for you if you have a rig in the parking lot or visable fron the lake. I just park a couple blocks from the lake on a residential street and fish away. The police that have waited for me to get off the lake just want a fishing report anyway, no tickets. I've been nice and respectful and I haven't had any problems. Duff | |

Location: WI | Asked a CO this question a few weeks ago. He said there are no restrictions fishing the lakes at night from a boat. As long as you are parked on the street you are fine. No fishing from shore though.

Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | thanks guys. I'm not far from lake harriet. Wouldnt mind fishing for an hour or two in the mornings. Maybe a half hour or so before sunrise. Do you think I'll have any problems?
Again, thanks for the help.

| You won't have any problems at all. Harriet can be good from shore if thats your intention, although most areas you're gonna have to use shallow running baits or topwaters because of the weeds. Good luck! | |

Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | Yes, fishing from shore is my intention. My wifes family lives very close to harriet. I'll be STUCK with them for 3 weeks, and I will only be up north on the water a combined 8 days. 5 days once I get there next week and another 3 days after the 4th of July. I figure with the 2 weeks in between, fishing from shore, I can get in 2 or 3 hours everyday and still be home before my wife and daughter wake up. Its not optimum, but atleast I have a chance of hooking up.......

| talking to park police, 10:00 close for the beaches and shore. midnight to sunrise off the water. but from my last 7years fishing those city lakes they will leave you alone. only summer time with the swimmers do the feel like they would say any- thing to you. also parking in lots close at 10:00pm. | |

I live about 5 minutes from harriet,,been on the lake maybe 250+ times since the early 90's its the closeist pure strain muskie lake to my house and can fish for a couple hrs on short notice . lake isnt what it used to be the mid 90's to 2002 it was very good,,,The park police can be pri#ks,,,ive seen them smash suv moulded $1000 windows when they could have smashed cheap side door windows when someone leaves a dog in the car to watch a concert at the bandshell,,,I have never had the cops tell me to get off the lake past midnight,,however DO NOT park iin the parking lot past 10pm or you WILL get ticketed,,you can park up in the neighborhood on the streets that mostly run east west the streets that run north south or the long way mostly too have 10pm deadline,,the road that leads up the steephill from bandshell past where the waterpump and trolley is an example of a street you can park on,,,Nokomis too is a lake thats very applicable to shore fishing it has some sharp breaks and not has much milfoil if you like tigers
