| I have tried a bunch and been happy with a lot. The only one I have issues with is guide's choice, and that because it tends to backlash deeper into the reel than the others. Power pro is fine. |

Location: MI | i realy like the unltracast stuff.
i had 80# PP on my 3 musky rods.and it threw alot of water and it made this buzzing noice when casting.i then bought a spool of ultra.used it,loved it and now my other to rods have it.good stuff.
one thing,i also realy wish firewire came bigger than 30#.all my other rods are equipt with it |

Location: Yahara River Chain | I am for Cortland Spectron. It seems with PP when I get a backlash, I normally have to get out the line pick. With Spectron, I just have to pull and most times it comes out. I also use Cabela's RipCord Si and that works for me as well. |

Location: Land of the Musky | I have 80lb Power Pro on all my reels and like it. Just got some Cortland per Steve Jonesi's recommendation. He swears by it. I still need to put some on a reel and try it out. I hope to get it on in the next month to try it. |

Location: Ontario | That's the line I've had on all my esox stuff the last five years or so. It's less expensive than Power Pro. I use the matte green in 80 and 100 pound and it has never given me any problems. I think it's a decent line. Thornes ran a sale over the winter of 80 and 100 in three spool lots for $6.99! I loaded up, but have Tuf Line on reels that's 4+ years old and hasn't given me any reasons to reverse it on the reel, let alone replace it outright. I got bored the other night and reloaded a few though. |

| another vote for ultracast. i used power pro for five years "thinking" all lines were pretty much the same. what a mistake! i switched this spring to ultracast and for me it is much quieter through the guides, casts farther and is a far "drier" line than power pro. i now have a few hundred yards of pp that maybe will work in my weedwacker...:) |

Location: Onalaska, WI | I use 80# Power Pro on all my reels and have never experienced any problems with noise when casting or "wetness" of the line. Backlashes are a rarity (on my 6500's and 7000's) and I haven't noticed a problem with it digging deeper into to spool. I did have issues with backlashes with some 65# on an Okuma FI400 I bought but as of right now I'm putting the blame on inferior reel vs. line.
I may have to try some ultracast with all the rave reviews here but right now if it cast father than my PowerPro my lures would be landing on shore! |

They used to make Fireline XDS in 80 lb. I have 2 or 3 spools laying around the closet. It is pretty much like dark green Cortland Masterbraid. While the fireline is stiff, it does birdnest less than other braids and does not dig near as badly since it is stiffer. |

| The new FireLine Braid and the FireLine XDS are as different as day an night. FireLine Braid is the tightest weave out there. |

Location: Oregon | In the past (6 yrs ago or so) Fireline used to turn from Black to Gray at which point it had lost a great deal of strength. I know this because I used to fish it alot with a mono leader for salmon. I would run #30 Fireline and #20 mono and when snagged the mono would always break first until the Fireline turned gray. At this point the 30 Fireline would start breaking before the #20 mono.......not good! I lost several big fish on Fireline and quit using it.......maybe they have since improved the design.
For the last 10 yrs or so it has been PP for me on all my rods and I love the stuff, it's very strong and maintains strength. I can't think of a time I lost a salmon, steelhead, bass, etc., because of line failure with PP.

| Normal FireLine and Power Pro are two completely different types of line, they are both "super lines" but that's where the similarities end. The new FireLine Braid is completely different than the FireLine you are used to. Normal FireLine is a thermally fused line wheras the FireLine Braid is a braided liine, and braided tighter than anything else on the market. |

Location: Omaha, Nebraska | Man that new Fireline Braid is a HOT item, went to my local Bass Pro and saw they had some, except only 2 30lb spools were left and this is Omaha, NE(not musky country). I will have to check back soon for some 80lb, because it is the only place I have seen sale it. |

| Here's another vote for Spiderwire...stealth or Ultracast are good. I don't like PP myself. I've had my only break-off's on PP.
Tuff line is good too but holds more water. |
