free fishing with some excellent fisherman, beatiful boats, refreshmants , bait, and a great lunch when were done.
one great thing i heard about rick over the years is"somehow we have to get these kids off the couch and get them out to fish, enjoying the outdoors"
thats why his wife Terese, myself and Shane started this. to remember ricks passion not only for fishing but for kids.

Location: Seymour, WI | I've worked with lots of kids groups in the past. (teaching kids golf) If you're having trouble getting kids signed up, I would look to some of the local kids groups like, boy scouts, girl scouts, YMCA classes.
You could also contact the local schools and see if they have summer programs already running.
These types of groups should be very eager to get involved because they're always looking for kids programming. They should also be able to provide some transportation and supervision.

Location: Green Bay, WI | How did it go?
Sorry I missed it... I spent the day sitting here in my recliner, wondering if I will get to see the inside of a musky boat at all this year. I hope you had a good turn out for the event.

Location: Freedom, WI | It went well. We had a few guys back out but we had at least 2 kids per boat. Each kid got at least 3 things in the drawings at the end. Fish where caught from panfish to Muskies. Everybody got well fed, the food was at a no cost to all participants. The guides had a drawing just for them (which included a large Stowmaster net) and a raffle for everybody also. To everybody involved in this here is a very BIG Thank You, the participants, organizers, prize donate rs and Ricks family (also organizers). I got to fish with a couple of good young people and had a great time. It is to bad it took Ricks death to get it going but he would be smiling. |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | It was an honor to be a part of this event and I will most definetely be participating in the years to come.
I think it would be great to offer going back out and fishing the remainder of the day with any kids interested next year.
We need to spread the word and get more people (guides and kids) involved next year.
Great job everyone! |

Location: Green Bay, WI | Awesome guys--glad to hear it went so well! Since I seem to have run out of knees to replace, I am planning on it for next year.
Good job to all the participants--and especially Danny and all the other organizers. What a great way to honor the memory of a fallen friend...

Location: Green Bay | What an incredible group of people. Danny, Shane and Terese........THANK YOU. My kids had a great time and couldn't stop talking about the cool lures they won. I know that Rick was smiling alot on Sat. Was it just me or did anyone else notice the big gust of wind that came up during the moment of silence? Coincidence...??? It is events like this that prove fishing and kids belong together and help form lasting memories. I can't wait for next year. The amount of time and effort to all who helped organize this outing was more than worth it. Our friend would be proud. God bless. |
