Minnow Baits Working

Over the last 7 days I've been in 2 different areas of Northern Wisconsin and twitching minnow baits has been the go to technique. Weed growth is lagging behind and drowned wood seems to be the ticket. Ripping and pausing Slammer minnow baits has been taking fish. Was with Tanner Wildes by Hayward and witnessed many fish, then took a nice one myself this afternoon. The pause seems to be the key, the slight rise of the bait triggering hits. Tanner released a solid 45" yesterday, and I was lucky enough to tag a big one this afternoon. We didn't have a tape, but educated guesses put her at 47 or 48. Was fishing with a buddy out of his pontoon, he'd raised a big one last night and I was lucky enough to get her to eat. Nice way to kick off the season.

Must've been the lucky belt-buckle.

Panfishing, bass fishing, now pontoon fishing...

I've become one of those guys I used to make fun of
