8.5' Okuma XH vs. 8' Avid H

Subject: 8.5' Okuma XH vs. 8' Avid H


I'm looking to pick up another rod and I've heard a lot of good things about the Okumas. I already have the Avid. Does anyone have experience with both the Okuma and Avid? Can you tell me how they compare power-wise?

Location: Madison, WI		I like em both, I have a 7'6" MH avid and 2 okumas 8'6" on heave and the other X-heavy. For the price you can't beat okuma, awesome rods. I would suggest getting the heavy weight unless you have some serious baits you'll be throwing. To my understanding St. Croix isn't making the avid series anymore. It's either premier or legend. Both okuma and the avids have a lifetime warranty. Which I really like! If It were my choice, I'd save the extra coin and get an okuma you won't be dissappointed.
