Two part question relating to night fishing:
1) What is your most productive lure?

2) At what time have you logged or noticed the best fishing? I.E.,is 10-midnight the hottest, midnight-2, just before sunup, etc.
thx much.

My best night lure is a black jointed shallow-raider. Followed by a pike colored 6" Jake.

All of my night fishing activity has occurred within the first hour after dusk.

Dog Turd, no question. The best for me is a minor or major at sunset, through the first three hours of darkness. That is because I value sleep too much to stay out later!![:praise:]

The most productive 'night time' lure for me (for muskies) has been a white Mepps musky killer. I go through a few of these a season do to "fish impacts". :) I have also had very good luck with small surface baits, but nothing compared to the numbers on the bucktail.

As far as which time has been most productive for me, I am not certain how much worth you can put into a given time. I am usually only out until midnight or 1 AM at the latest. I think that the big ones move in to feed just after dark, but there are many other conditions that will affect the best time to fish. I guess 9-11 PM would be the most productive times for night fishing (IMO).
