I am waiting on these things and was reading their literature. I assumed the gps would show me speed over water. I expected this to be a given. I dont want another paddle wheel next to the 'ducer on the back of the boat. That is on my Garmin and is never the same as my hand-held Magellan. Someone pleeeze tell me it is standard issue with this model. Thanks, now I can sleep............

Yes it is standard. Go to menu and then hit overlay data and you can put the speed on display.

I would also concur with Schuler on that one. It's definitely there.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I dont have them in my hands yet, waiting on shipment. That emulator feature on their site wont download for me, so I cant 'train' on it before I hit the water.

Paddle wheel would be speed over water. GPS would be speed over ground.

Yep, my 522iGPS has speed on the screen. Many ways to set it up and it is nice ot not have the paddle wheel.
