| 12 hours on Pewaukee opening day, didn't see a thing. Sunday after a few hours on the water my son and I bumped into MuskieFIRST's Jason Smith and Bill Schwartz from Slammer Crank Baits on the water. With no fish seen that morning, Jason suggested we try Taylor's Bay very shallow, and Bill said the Golden Shiner was hot the day before. About an hour later we took a break at Smokey's, picked up the Crank Bait, then headed to Taylor's Bay. This is no lie, the third cast a 30 1/2" male hit on the first turn of a figure 8. My son netted the fish, and handled it for the photo. This was the first Muskie he had ever seen, and the first for me on an artificial since I started last year.
We even raised 3 more fish that afternoon, with one more strike. My son took out his ultralight poles and pan fish jigs out of the Tuffy...he now has the "musky fever".
Thanks MF, Jason and Bill

| Took me FOREVER to tag my first legal....but once that hump is conquered, as long as you continue to POUND, POUND, POUND and learn from your pounding things will only get easier. At least thats the theory!!!!

| Scott,
What's up your fishing reports? It seems like something is wrong with them. Every time I go there I get reports from June 2001. | |
