| I have an abu 6000 reel that I bought last year I do regular maint on it however, I am having trouble with it dis engaging when I cast. from time to time, when I cast the "bail" will slip making a horrible racket and stopping short my cast. I tried pushing the button in several times pre-cast but it still happens. I have almost snagged fishing partners 4 times now including my daughter. anyone have any thoughts? Please help! | |

| Sounds like a clutch arm problem? Like it's not disengaging all the way when you push the button. I would take it apart, remove the clutch arm, and do three things:
1. Replace it if the tip is all worn, otherwise:
2. Wipe it down with a rag and:
3. oil (not grease) it
