I had the GREAT pleasure of sharing a boat with Sorno today. It was a little cool with a bit of a breeze. Okay, it was cold (40 degrees) and REALLY windy (20+ mph, easy). We fished Pine View here in Utah. He answered all of my questions that I had and also questions that I did not think to ask.

What a GREAT person and a wealth of knowledge. He was more than willing to share information on the fishery out here. I was hoping to learn (and did) about the fishery and how far along it was as far as how mature it is and who is doing it.

We also had the enjoyment of giving Tuffdaddy a hard time through a phone call. I told him that I lost a musky that was well over 50" right near the spot where Sorno's 51"+ was caught and that it could have been the new state record. That was a little too far fetched for Joel. LOL I did get to see Kent's PIGGY that Rick Lax did. WOW!! It looks GREAT on the wall.

God willing, I hope to share the boat again with Kent out here on a warmer, less windy day.

Thanks again Kent!! You have a wonderful family as well.

Chuck

You are most welcome Chuck. Too bad about the weather; it was easily the windiest weather I have fished (on purpose) in Utah. Despite that, I had a great time too.
No rain checks! You get a 'wind check'!
Pick better weather for your next trip out.

the wind has been unbelieveable out here. it was well beyond 40mph gusts on this side of the state yesterday. i've tried fishing, and just get blown around like a toy. i couldn't even see the mountains surrounding vernal yesterday driving home from work cause of all the dust.

Chuck,
In another life I had a chance to fish with Kent as well. Not only fish with him but he dragged my butt half way across Utah to do it! He has a very unique understanding of the water and has plays a big part in continuing the tiger stocking program in Utah! You cannoit say enough good about this guy and his family.

You missed one element in your review of fishing with Kent. This is possibly the most BEAUTIFUL fishing in the world! You are surrounded with snow covered mountain peaks on the reservoir.

If you can,,, take him up on the "wind check" he offered.

I agree 110% Mark!!! I even commented to Kent that never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be musky fishing surrounded by mountains, and BEAUTIFUL snow capped ones at that. I saw a lot of country north and south of Salt Lake City the last few days. Absolutely breath taking. I wish I would have brought the digital camera along.

Sitting in the Denver airport now. Gonna sleep here tonight. Fly out early A.M. to Grand Junction. Back home Friday. (Yawn!!) Night all.
