There isn't much difference,, if you can catch big bass then you can catch muskies too,, just fish the lakes that have muskies in them. Don't worry about bait color,,, [:0] That's 1% stuff,,, water color,, now that's something to think about,, but after you make that "choice" then focus your time and energy on the prime locations, depths, and speeds of your bait and your in business,,, welcome to fishing muskie,, it's the greatest! jerryb pretty well nailed it. You've started in the right place (MuskieFirst). All I can say is "READ"!!! There's a lot of information on MuskieFirst, of course there's a little bit of friendly banter. Because of the anonymity to the internet most guy's here will limit their responses to anonymous post's. So you've already made the hurdle by signing up. There are also a lot of other good sites and each has it's own "personality". Here are few to start with:

www.muskiecentral.com
www.muskiesinc.org
www.esoxangler.com
www.teamesox.com
www.muskiefishing.com
www.trentu.ca/muskie/
www.muskyhunter.com
www.esoxresearch.com

Esox Research has some excellent articles and links for the more scientifiaclly curious Muskie fisherman. Have fun- hope you enjoy your Muskie fishing experience. You are doomed!
