| Well opening morning for me has come and gone. My brother finally got his first muskie this morning after trying for 12 years and it was taken on one of ToddM's famous spinners. We also had a nice mid 40 inch fish follow twice but would not strike. The boat traffic was so horrible today compared to years past. But there is always tomorrow. Well best of luck to the rest of you for the rest of the day....

No fishing for me, went to iowa(6hr drive) to straighten out my seat problem for my suburban. Took back the wrong one, ended up spending 750 for a custom. OUCH! |

| Hi Everyone,
Congrats on the fish! wow, 12 years ,bet he will remember that fish forever!
We boated two fish in Madison, my fishing partner Todd Dunn got a 36" on a sucker and I managed to get one just over 31" on a bucktail in the afternoon. Had a nice one (36-40") hit on my 5" slammer early, but I blew that. Blew one on a sucker also.
Good luck everyone.
Don

| Well, it's like this. I usually don't book trips on Opening Weekend, wanting to spend that time with my kids. College requirements kept them away from home so my wife and I ended up visiting my brother in law at his family cottage by Three Lakes.
There was no way in He77 that I was going to be near a lake, on Opening Day of the fishing season, with a new boat and NOT be fishing. So when we took off, it was with the Cobra in tow.
We chatted for a while, then I said "Heck with this, I can drink beer anytime" and put the boat in, planning on fishing for an hour or so. On the third cast, on a strange lake, with one of my bass rods and a Secret Weapon spinnerbait, I took a 34-35" muskie! I never even took the little beauty out of the water, just admired it, gave the spinnerbait a twist and away she went.
Somehow, it's appropriate that the first Wisconsin caught fish in my new bassboat was a muskie.
To all that are going back out today, Good Luck and have fun!

| We had a good opening day to say the least. The new Beckman got a workout for sure! We boated seven; 31, 31.5, 32, 34, 35, 37 & 38. All of the fish came in very shallow water - less than three feet. We also lost 4 others, the largest of which was nearing 40 inches. While we a good action day, and no one is complaining, we did not see any big fish. Based on the condition of the smaller fish I'd guess that the big girls were resting up somewhere.

| My buddy and I had a good day as well...Ended up with 8 in the boat by 2:30 p.m., 28,30,31,31.5,32.5,33,36,37...all released of course. I managed to lose a couple more, mid 30's, and missed one boat side, same size...saw a few being caught as well.
Back at it today!

| A great opening day to say the least. My best friend from the old neighborhood and i met at 5:30am in a McDonalds parking lot. He gets out of the car and has a Nancy's Stuffed Pie ready for breakfast. We munch on the way to the landing and dump the rig in. Caught about a dozen bass with the largest going 4 1/2 pounds. Then came the toothy critters! a 33" and (2) 40's.The bigger fish looked to have been in a brawl!Real beat up.Love the shallow invaders! Black/silver and walleye patterns.Saw another 1/2 doz. fish and were off the water by 5pm.Lots of boats on this lake but everyone was very cordial.Great to be slingin' again! Steve |
