Location: Eau Claire,WI | I use the walmart version.I remove the spring and they are ok.I also have a higher end version I think I got them from from Moores. Those are great if you are doing lots of split rings, otherwise the less expensive one work good enough. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I think I got my pair at Wal Mart. I guess I don't see the need for these tools to be anything special. As long as they split the ring (have a small wedge at the end of the jaws), they should do the job fine. Not a lot of force is involved with changing rings, so just about any of the pliers would work... I think?

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Unless you're making baits, I haven't seen a reason to spend money on the higher end ones. I wouldn't suggest one of the cheapos that only cost a couple of bucks. But you should be able to find plenty that'll do the job just fine for under $10.

| $5 pair from Walmart works great. Laker Tackle makes them, I believe. I use them a LOT, and they are great. |

| Moore's higher end offering is a great tool. You're dropping less for a tool that will last forever than you would for one good bait. Why scrimp on pennies for one item when you're dropping big bucks on dozens (or hundreds!) of lures? |

I've almost given up snaps and use all split rings on all the noses of my baits. I would NEVER be happy using those cheap stamped out split ring pliers. And for $15, it is money well spent. |

Location: La Crosse, WI | The Xuron split ring pliers are the BEST pliers I have used. I have done 10's of thousands of all sizes (lure manufacturer) and these are by far the best. I have tried tons of styles and none have even came close. The best feature is you can use them on small rings #0 all the way up to the largest musky rings with no problem. I sell them cheaper then stamina by a few dollars and the shipping is much less. I will sell them to fellow members for only $15 with $2.95 shipping. I attached a picture of the pliers. My contact info is below. I accept check, money order, credit card via phone, and I can also paypal invoice.
