Hey Guys,

I take my Dad & brother to Wabigoon Lake by Dryden, Ontario every year in the first of June to do my good deed of fishing for pike and eyes. My Dad is on his last trip or maybe two before he is too old to do it anymore. We are looking for a drive in 4 x 4 type of lake within hour or so from Dryden while we are up there to get onto. My Dad has never caught a Northern Pike larger than mid 30 inches.

Can anyone be so kind as too point me to a place that we can drag a small boat back into too possibly catch him a big pike and maybe some descent eyes.

Thnx for your help

could try driving down the cedar narrows road, off of the 502, plenty of lakes off of that road, Straw lake at km. 39 or 42 has good walleye and for likely pike too, or km 29 esox lake has good pike, bass, and muskie.

if this is his last years go to Anglers Kingdom. 40 inches is average , and more than a few above 50. if you bring your own food i think its like 750.00 for the week. Not bad for one of the top big pike lakes in Canada. Go to kevin's site to see all the big pike.

Lac Seul is beautiful back country that has produced my biggest northern and also my biggest walleye. The musky fishing is also great, so you really can't go wrong. Another idea is Little Vermillion and all the lakes surrounding it. Great action lakes

There's a book I own...i believe it's called Canadian Backwoods Guide..I have seen it several places, but I know for sure they sell it at Bobby's Sport Shop in Vermilion Bay. It has maps of the whole region, roads included. They even talk about small lakes and what kind of species are in the lakes and the fishing outlook. The only problem is there are so many lakes, there are quite a few they do not touch on, however, for the map purpose it comes in handy. I would suggest you google Bobby's and ask them if they can ship it out to you, I think you would enjoy it
