I know the lakes have milfoil. Do these ever get cut with a large cutter? Or are they left untreated all year? I know Wingra gets bad.
Thanks

The Answer is yes, they run the weed cutters on the big lakes through out the summer. I have seen the weed cutters parked at the Olin Park boat ramp on Monona and Babcock Park on Waubesa during the summer.

Yeah, it can get pretty messy after the weed cutters run through. Sometimes topwaters and not even an option.

The pleasure boater do their fair share of weed cutting on the weekends as well.
They got the whole lake and they have to run right over the weeds where your next cast was going to land!

Oh well. Most of them don't know any better.

Lee, you said most of them don't know any better. Maybe they do? I have been out there when they are literally running the shorelines in 2-5ft of water, lap after lap. It makes me wonder if it is not deliberate. It sure seemed that way to me. By mid-afternoon I have had trouble just finding a clear lane to cast in.
