| On one of the other boards a while back there was a thread about clothing color. I cannot find it and never got to read it all, so here goes again with some additional questions.
In an issue or MH or EA about a year ago there was a VERY detailed article about color and the muskie's ability to see colors. The article applied this theory only to baits, in the water. What about their ability to see colors OUT of the water?
I have a red boat, is that a bad thing? Do they see my red boat when the approach and turn off more frequently then a different color?
My red boat has a white hull, is that a bad thing? Do they see white and never approach my boat as close as they might another color?
I wear red rain gear, is that a bad thing. Do they see a 6ft tall pillar of red and turn off, sure happens a lot :-( , more then they would another color?

| Red_Menace (AKA Lunch Box): Over the years from what I have seen is that the color of clothing, hat's, boats etc. don't matter as much as sudden movement or noise does ( See thread About Trolling Motor Noise), Just my observations

| Lunch, or Menace,
I read an article also about clothing in Musky Hunter about 2 years ago about the subject. They didn't point out that one color would scare a musky away or was the best, but said bright colors like a bright orange would distract a fish's concentration towards your bait. They explained that a Musky can't concentrate like a human, and that color, movement or sound catches their attention. So a musky looking up at a big guy in a bright orange hunting jacket would most likely distract the musky, especially if he was moon walking and had another guy playing the symbols on his boat. But I don't think the color of your boat will matter. One big thing about color, insects see and are attracted to blue. And it is a proven fact that blue clothes will attract bugs more than any other color.
We sometimes forget that Muskies don't read MH or EA. Although I wish they did.[]

| Yes, musky are very leary of large red objects. Catch rates can go down as much as 90% in some cases. | |

| I agree with todd on this one. For some reason a red boat=less fish. Maybe thats my problem.
