I'm just curious on what your biggest fish is of any species.

I'll kick it off with a 22 pound king

LMB- 24 3/4" out of Pewaukee
SMB- 22" Mississippi River
Pike- 44" Cass Lake
Muskie-49 3/4" Cass Lake
Walleye- 11 1/2#-33 1/2" Long Lake, Vilas County. (Now that lake has a zero walleye population because the DNR introduced Rainbow Smelt that eat the eggs and fry, while they also introduced more Lake Trout. The DNR wants to make it a trout lake-"because you can catch walleyes anywhere, but you can't find lake trout anywhere in Wisconsin." Have fun catching those trout, because you can't troll that lake. Sometimes I just don't get it.)
Rainbow Trout- 22 1/2# Lake Michigan.

8' Lemon Shark, 10wt Fly rod.
150# Pacific Sailfish on a 14wt
139# White Marlin on a 14wt
Those are some of the biggest. The most memorable, though was a smallie on BWCA. Weighed in at 6lb12oz on a certified Boga Grip.

311# halibut, then a 298 the next weekend in the same spot! (This was before subsistence licenses and the drop in population. At that time they were everywhere. If I had it to do over again, I'd have released those ladies.)

Then I switched to long rods for 'buts and my best was 38 lbs.

Lived in Kodiak for five years, so I don't know what my biggest salmon is. I stopped keeping track.

Santiago - 4/1/2008 1:25 AM

I had gone 84 days without catching anything but on the 85th I tied into a marlin that pulled my boat around for two days. On the third day I harpooned it and dragged it back to shore. Unfortunately a group of sharks were attracted to it and stripped it clean leaving only the skeleton and a tail. The night I got back home I drifted off to sleep and dreamed about Lions in Africa.

A rare gem...thanks for the post...
