| Hello all. I'm looking for the best boat for row trolling. I need to be able to lift it myself and fit in the back of my Toyota Tacoma. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I checked out her site. Looks like the boat is around 3k. I'm looking for something cheap. Can a jon boat be used for row trolling? I'm not sure if the aero dynamics will work?

| I never row trolled but I have rowed enough boats in my life to know that unless the boat is designed for rowing they don't track very strait. I would think that a Jon boat would require a lot of effort to keep it from zig zagging real bad plus it's square front would not "coast" very good between oar strokes.
If Vilas county would get there head out of you know where someday and allow motor trolling it sure would make things easler and not require people to buy an extra boat to use for one application in one county. |

Location: Rhinelander. | I have a 14 footer thats the old sheet fiberglass model. They made them years ago. The material came in gold, green amd motor oil I think. Not really that lite but you could manage. Rows ok. not as well as row troller but $2750 cheaper. When two guys row its a breeze. Good luck |

Location: London, England | Just looked at those good dog boats. they look great, but at $3k basic about twice the price I'd be prepared to pay for a boat like that! A 10ft portabote would be cheaper and more versatile, though not as good for row trolling.
