| Ok Rock guards for protecting boat while towing
Who is using them?
Which one?
Do you use it anythime you tow?

I'd suggest the Kwikphfyt. I provided pics on this thread. I use mine everytime I'm towing something. With this setup, it sure makes things easy!

Location: Cedar, MN | I prefer the solid rubber ones. I bought mine from custom truck acc. in blaine MN. The salesman could have sold me a more expensive one but he also owns a ranger and said the bigger rocks will fly right through the fiber ones. My 2 cents.

Well that salesman must have been one heck of a salesman. Because I've used the Kwikpfyt for two seasons now and I've had two expensive fiberglass boats hooked to the back of the truck the last couple seasons and have had no dings that I've found yet! That's with multiple trips to Canada and back on those lovely gravel roads. They'll do the job just fine. Majority of the walleye touring pros run rock guards of some kind with the whiskers like this one. Not just the kwikpfyt but other brands that use the whiskers.
And of course, you will never be able to stop every rock. That's impossible. |

| The solid rubber is better for "BIG" rock protection, but it is also heavier. I have a fiber one and have used it every time I pull the boat. I have noticed alot of minor nicks on the boat, like a sandblasting. I will purchase a solid rubber one when I get my new boat. |

Location: north central wisconsin | I run the solid rubber 'Rock Tamers' for reasons mentioned above, and because they just look better that the paint brushes in my opinion. Either way you go, you'll be protecting your investment to a point(no system deters 100% of the debris from reaching the trailered device). |

Location: Lebanon,Mo | I use the Rock Tamers everytime I pull the boat.I bought a extra ball mount and leave it attached to the Rock Tamers so i just slip it in and take it out when not in use.When i pull a utility trailer i just use the old ball mount.My last boat was covered in rock chips and the new one doesnt have any chips yet?? So they must help.... |
