| I have just purchased a 17 foot Boat which Has 2 outboard Tillers on it, One is a Mercury 75 HP 2 stroke Oil injected motor, and the second is a 9.9 four Stroke Suzuki 20" Electric start. these Both Run Flawlessly , My Question is Does anyone know of anyone who might be Interested in taking these in on trade towards a new 4 stroke motor .I was thinking a 15 HP 4 stroke that is very efficient . I was wondering what you would recommend ,and your thoughts about the Best, Quietest, most dependable, out boards out there...................I fish mostly smaller reservoirs with a 9.9 Hp rating... Thanks for any Info. you offer |

I know some folks who really like the 4 stroke Suzuki's. I'd keep that and sell off the 75 or trade it for a bunch of baits.
Of course you know, running a 15 on a 9.9 limit lake is cheating. m |

I'm confused. you have a 9.9 4 stroke. You fish 9.9 lakes, but want to get rid of the 9.9 for a 15 HP. |

| Kind of a confusing post.
You say you fish reservoirs with a 9.9 rating. Earlier in the post you state you HAVE 9.9 Suzuki. I'm confused.
I guess the short of it is sell both motors privately and go buy a new 9.9 if that's what you want or need. In todays world all the motors are good. Pick the dealer you like and trust in the event you ever need service.
Don't shop just price alone. The people behind the transaction are what counts. |

| The 9.9 that I have does run great but it was on the boat when new which is 8n years old or so.....I thought a new Mercury/ Honda would have a warranty, and be more fuel efficient...... I fish a 9.9 lake but it seems like Everyone uses a 15 with 9.9 labels so it can push the heavier boat a little faster.....Thanks Sr. |

They are all carbed motors, so fuel efficiency will not be much better with new. I don't understand the need for a warranty. #1, that 9.9 should run forever with proper maintenance. #2, if it does take a dump and you had to buy a new one, it's not like you are out anything. #3. you'r not going to get that much more speed with a 15 HP over the 9.9. And, isn't that why they limit the lake to 9.9 in the first place?
Also, I'd have a hard time calling the 9.9 Suzuki/Johnson amazing. There's a lot of guys out there with E-tecs that run Yamahas and Mercs for kickers, for the simple fact that they run better than the Johnsons(Suzuki). The Suzuki/Johnson 9.9 had a problem loading up at lower speeds. Just speaking from experience.
