Location: North Saint Paul, MN | I heard a rumor from a guy last night that they are moving the Muskie opener to the same weekend as walleye. I had a hard time believing him. He insisted that they were moving it up this year. Is there any truth to this? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The WIDNR had nothing to do with the *proposed* early C&R season in Northern WI. Nothing at all. And, as I understand it, that proposed season legislation has a few more hoops to jump through and if that process is successful, won't take effect until 2009.
No way is this law passing the CC. |

Location: Rhinelander. | a post on this on musky hunter site and I've posted there. I do not see how the early opener would hurt the musky fishery at all. The arguements don't jive and there is even something Dave .N says helps support my feelings on it.
Everyone is so worried about the walley and panfishermen catching muskies by accident. Gues what, whethere its legal or not they are going to catch the same number. With the new proposal it will be c&r so they are put back.
I've been at this ver 30 years and I have fished the early season when legal for years. I never caught a muskie with egs in her. Daves comment on this is very interesting.
also lets be honest here if your going to want to fish them in may you will anyway. You'll say your pike fishing.
I just don't see the harm in opening it early.
