Location: SW MI | Has anyone else had problems getting 2" coil bodies lately? I ordered mine 3 1/2 weeks ago and they still haven't come in. I've called twice and they keep saying they are on order and should be in soon. Just want to know if anyone is having the same problem. Does anyone else sell the 2" bodies without weight? |

| I agree with Luke. Go to your local hardware store. Ask for "throttle cable" (essentially coiled wire) and you will save a bundle over the long run. |

| Only time I order coils if I need keel weights on them otherwise I do what the other guys do, alot cheaper in the long run!! |

Location: SW MI | So in my frustration over not getting my order, I decided to take everyone's advice and buy some throttle cable. I tied up my first skirt yesterday and I must say it looks pretty good for my first one. I was having a problem getting my half hitches to hold so I ended up using head cement to hold it down. Also, how does everyone else here tie on their flashabou? I laid mine out flat and put a piece of tape across the middle and wrapped it that way but it kept wanting to slide up and down the coil. Any suggestions? Once I finish I'll post a pic, I think it looks pretty good for my first one though. |

Location: Kodiak, AK | I've never tied on a coil, but I just pinch my flashabou, throw on a couple of gathering wraps to hold it all in place and cinch it down from there. And I don't try to cover the circumfrence of the fly/hook in one clump. I tie it on in four or five patches around the fly, as it's much more manageable. I hope that helps. I dunno, maybe we're talking apples and oranges here.
