Location: Eden Prairie & Pine Island		There are many great lures being made that are clear coated and many that are not. Both have pro's and con's, and most of mine have always been clear coated, but I'd like to try it the other way. What type and brand of paints are used on lures that are not clear coated? How do they hold up? How are they applied? Is this stuff mainly automobile paint with a heavy duty air brush or what? Thanks in advance for the info.

I think Rapala doesn't seal the paint on thier lures. They use a prop solution, like Swede has, and then paint over and done. What type of paints I'm not sure.

I believe you are going to need Acrylic Lacquer paints to go that route. Make sure you have an industrial ventilation system before you start messing with those paints!
