| The North Metro Chapter will be running a summer league again this year, and we should have the schedule in the next month or so. You can check out our website at www.nmmuskies.com for details. The league typically runs for 8-10 weeks beginning in June. We move around the metro and typically fish WBL, Forest, Minnetonka, Indy and Bald Eagle. League nights run from 5-9:30 and are typically held on Tuesday evenings.
I'd be happy to answer any additional questions...email me or post on our message board at the website noted above.
Thanks,
Eric Elwer

Location: Lino Lakes, MN | I don't think that we ever come close to 30 participants on any one night. I recall that White Bear Lake draws the biggest turnout of the year with around 20 fisherman. Most nights average 10-15 guy's/gals on the water. The league follows a set rotation of lakes that usually puts us on the lakes when the muskies are going.
We ran the longer hours so that we could have a better chance of putting more fish in the boat for the leage. I think most years the winner has caught 5 or fewer fish for the year. We usualy average a fish close to 50" or better for the year. The big fish for the year has been from White Bear, Minnetonka, Independence, Forest. All of the lakes have big catchable fish.
In the past we included points for showing up and fishing each lake, fishing with different partners and of course the fish points. I lucked out and caught 2 musieks including a big fish (49"), fished each night and I fished with multiple partners and won the league.
Give the league a shot.
Like Eric E stated the schedule will be out in the next month. I will not be running the league this year. There may be changes -- It has always been a fun time and gives you a reason to get out. Many of us have very busy schedules and we just put the league on the schedule and show up.
