Just wondering where everyone installs their ob chargers in this boat?
And what brand charger do you recommend? Thanks

Not sure about the brand name. I have a 1750 and the three bank charger sits in a vertical positiom and is located in the left front starage bin next to the bump seat post. BG

Thanks BG. That sounds like a good spot but how did you run the lead back to the starting battery?

Mine is in the same place as one last cast. I have a three bank, but when it was set up they never ran it back to the starting battery. I was a little upset, but never had a need to charge the battery all last season. The motor charges it when it is running and at the end of the year I pulled out the battery and will hook it up to the charger before the season starts.

I only have a two bank charger on my boat that charges up the trolling motor batteries. Didn't feel the need to have a charger on the starting battery as the big motor keeps the battery charged up. Think about how much you drain from the battery starting the motor and it doesn't take much for the big motor to charge it back up. I didn't put the charger on my starting battery at all last season and never had a problem with it. Even with listening to the radio/cd player while fishing.

But then run a livewell all day, two or three Sonars/GPS units, radio/stereo, and you can run a starting battery down. Even though you have enough juice to start the big motor, your battery may not be fully charged, and that is not good for a battery. The best is to fully charge them.

I used to run a 3 bank Guest 10-5-10. Last year I wen to a two bank and a single bank Pro Mariner. While I like the setup, I did have an issue with the Pro Mariner dying on me just before a tourney. I didn't get the Guest, because it wasn't available in time. My next boat will have the Guest again.
