Location: WI | On the thumb bar release, do you still have to thumb the spool when you cast or do you just hold the bar down? I've only used Abu bait casters and have never tried a thumb bar. | |

| Thumb the spool.
The thumb bar is just the spool release. No different than the push button on some other reels | |
