Location: Madison, WI | Does anyone run this boat or have fished out of it before. Ive got a buddy who is looking at a used one and short of seeing it in person (its far away) what are the differences with the Muskie Edition and the regular 1850's? I noticed that it appears to have lower sides. Could the lower sides be an issue in bigger water (i.e LOTW).

| I am pretty sure the fishawks and the CMV have the same hull. The big difference is the CMV is set up like a bass boat. There is 3 seats in the middle and the rest of the boat is deck.

| We run the 1850 Fishhawk "Muskie Edition". Have never ridden in a CMV, but our '02 has a 54" livewell up front, built in bait box and I believe that is it for the "Muskie Edition".
We run it on big water every year without a problem (i.e. LOTW, Mille Lacs, etc). Lower sides make the fishability of this rig a lot nicer. |

Location: Owatonna,MN | CMV and Fishhawk I believe are different hull. I maybe wrong. I really like the CMV but not real crazy about the Fishhawk. It is a very nice boat, just not what I like. I have 2 friends that have the 1850 Fishhawk and they love them. If you/he are not going to spend alot of time on water such as Mille Lacs the I think you would love the CMV.

| I've ran a CMV 1850 Muskie Edition for the past 3 summers and really liked it. They do have a different hull (mod-v) than the Fishhawks. However, the boat has handled well in all situations I've encountered. I live in Vilas county so most of the water are smaller lakes, but it has seen Leech a couple times and did very well.
As Peaches mentioned, this boat is essentially all deck with bass boat type seating. That makes it great for musky fishing with 2 or 3 guys, but it is not conducive to a family of 4.

Location: syracuse indiana | they both have the same hull but the cmv is set up like a bassboat. the decks are taller and really in the back. it will handle the bigger water but with you not really down in the boat like a bass boat its not safe for rough water. i run a 1850 tournament sc and the walls are higher than the usual 1850 you should see mine parked next to a regular one you can see the difference...bill |
