Subject: Making spinners

Hey. i am new to here and i have never been on here before.

me and some of my friends are wanting to start to make some of our own spinners for muskies, pike and other fish. we were wonder if you had any good advice. what i would really like to know is of the people that make their own spinners, what do you guys you for the wire to hold the lure together and where i might find it (we will be making inline spinners). i have looked at some stores and the wire coms in spools but it definetly does not appear strong enogh for anything but a panfish and since it is in a spool i could probably not get it straight.

so in short if you had any other advice that would be great too.
thanks

absolutely the best way to start is to take apart one of your bucktails and see how it's built. look at some suppliers (stamina, lakeland, etc.) and order your components and start building. you'll learn more through trial and error than anything else. for wire you probably want some precut/prelooped wire. staminainc.com is one of many good resources

check out the "Basement Baits" forum here on the site.
lots of great lure makers hang out there and are willing to help people out.
