propped right you should hit 55-58 top speed

I'd say with a typical load, and propping for best overall performance, you're looking at 51-54. I've been in several of the pre-2007 619's, and not a one has gone 55. And that was with a 200 Opti. The HPDI is a good motor, but not quite as fast as the Opti or the ETEC.

Now, you could prop it for top speed, but your holeshot will suffer, and your RPM's may be down a bit.

that's funny, I have been in an 05, with 200 evinrude that I saw 57 on gps with 2 guys, full gear, half tank of gas and it has plenty of hole shot.

What's funny? Best I'd seen was 54. If 57 was tops, then why do you say 58?

Either way, I bet you can't tell the difference between 54 and 57 without looking at a GPS.

Shep- OK buddy- I now know why I have such a crappy hole shot & low RPM on my Skeeter at full throttle, i.e., it's propped for speed. See, I do learn something when I read your threads. Yeah, being a 60's gearhead, I'll keep it. Although the current price of gas tells me I'm better off running at even lower RPM. Strange as it seems, my daily gas consumption in is the same if I'm running & gunning or if I'm trolling all day.

BTW: How much do two (2) guy's and their gear weigh? If I were thinking a couple ToddM's, that could be a bit. Even though he looked pretty svelte at the MilW. Muskie Expo. Now, two Lee Tauchen's & a limit of 5 lures a piece might be different.

Have fun!

All of the 619's I have fished out of were in the low to mid 50's. Very similar to my 620VS. People will talk up their rides a few MPH for some reason BUT who really cares about one 1 or 2 mph at top end. I care more about the hole shot then the top end. Getting out of the hole fast is much more impressive then slowly getting ahead of someone at top end.

My partner runs the 06 619 200 XS Opti, top speed was 51-52. I have talked to walleye guy getting up 50's at great cost, putting jackplate and playing with props. So that being said 50-54 would be typical to end pending number batteries, equipment, and other misc load, yes you can play with props and jackplates to get a few more mph.

You can get a few more mph out of any hull including the 619 by turning a bigger prop. BUT sometimes I see people boasting about getting a few more mph than others and not realizing they are not getting enough RPM's. If you are at WOT and not getting anywhere close to the redline it can lug the motor and give you problems down the road.

I have a 2001 619 with a 200 Evinrude, and with my performance prop can easily get 58 with two guys, gear, gas, etc. The prop is a Renegade 13 1/2 X 23 four blade and the hole shot is good, too.

I have an 03 619 with a 200 Optimax, no kicker and go about 52-53 at most. I am sure with a different prop I would do 55. Plenty fast enough!
Maybe I am slow because of the full windshield though.

Congrats! Wow, what a deal! Bank repo auction? At that price, who cares if it goes 52 or 58!

I tipped a guy on a 04 621 with a 250 Evinrude. He got it for $26K! From a bank. I still think I should have bought it. Had less than 40 houres on it. Was full of dog hair, and filthy dirty. But it cleaned up really nice.

Enjoy your new boat!
