| Guys I am putting a list together of our wisconsin muskie lakes by size and class and its very interesting. I will post when done. I am wondering how many muskie lakes in minnesota and of those how many between 500 acres and 1000 and how many over 1000. Hope you can help. This will help me make my comparison between the two states. I also talked to a wisconsin fish biologist and he stated( slot sizes work with northern pike so they might with muskie as well.) Will be gathering more info on it.

| Hey Don,
I am sending you a list of Muskie lakes in Minnesota. I know there are a few more bodies of water in which can catch Muskies through migration. According to the DNR there are approximately 121 bodies of water in Minnesota which have Muskies in them. Of them 43 Lakes over 1000 acres, plus 9 river systems, 12 Lakes between 500 and 1000 acres, and 57 from 500 down to 33 Acres.

| Don- Hope this helps--> http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/water/fhp/fish/musky/
Also they do acknowledge that there are many other lakes w/ Muskies that are not classified as Muskie waters. Really funny that WI has so many lakes & MN is out producing us on big fish, etc..... Maybe WI-DNR should clone some of MN practices for Muskie management. Don't get me wrong WI has some outstanding fish biologist's. However, their hands are tied by bureaucratic strings/management. The key to trophy's is balance, i.e., forage bio-mass versus muskie population + CPR.
