Who's using it out there? Tell me what you think of it. Thinking of trying a new line this season.

The best line I have ever used, No more Powerpro for me !!!!!
Ultracast is a very smooth line, no more rod eye noise, also your hand will not get wet, this line does not hold water, and the color stays on the line not on your rod, hands and reel like when I use Powerpro. It does cost more { $5.00 more for a 300yds spool } but you will be glad you got it. I use 50, 65, 80lb test last year. Try the new In-visi color, about 30-40% translucent in the water.

Same here, my line of choice now. The dryest by far. I was having alot of troubles with my penn reels backlashing about 1 out of every 5 casts with another line. I put this stuff on and backlashed one time in 5 trips. LOVE IT!

Interesting, might have to give it a shot. I heard in a roundabout way that there is supposed to be a new Berkley line coming out.

Thanks for the input! Looks like I made my decision on which line to use this season.

What does the invisibraid look like after it breaks in. Wondering if it looses some of its translucence when it gets a little frayed or fuzzy.

For stained waters, is it better to be partially translucent (white) or green?

I tried the 80# invisibrade. I've been using primarily 80# Spiderwire stealth for the past three years.

IMO the "invisibrade" is not very invisible. It appears pretty white in the water. I was fishign very muddy water this past weekend in the WI river but the line did seem to stand out. Not sure if the contrast improves when the line goes deeper.

The 80# ultracast has more body, doesn't flatten compared to the stealth. The diameter is a bit larger as best as I can tell. I would probably get 65# to substitute for 80# stealth in the future.

Ultracast seems to hold up better. Just have a single day on the water with it but I think this is the cas so far. Verdict is still out for me. Need more time to try. Will post opinion later.

Great line. Super smooth, very dry, and although it is "visible", it is relatively low key. After some use, the white became a dirty gray/white from my thumb. Don't think I've had a single backlash yet. I still have Daiwa Samurai braid on my main combo, but use invisibraid on everything else. Both lines are very good, but Invisibraid is my favorite and will be on all my reels by next season.

You guys had better luck with it than I did. I have used about every brand out there and will try anything once. It came unwraveled on me the second trip out. Not using bucktails or any other twisting lures, just jerks and cranks. Maybe I got a bad bunch but that stuff unwraveled all the way down into the spool. Never seen anything else do this. Regular Spiderwire is fine but my experience with the Ultracast was not good and I would recommend getting some Cortland bronzeback and be done with it. Scott

Unraveled? Show us an image of that, if you could, please.

I have been using SPIDERWIRE ULTRA CAST INVISI BRAID from last July 07 on spinning reels and all 10 of my baitcasters, and this line hands down is the best braid on the market today. I have used CORTLAND, P/P, STREN, STEALTH, SUFIX, ULTRA CAST makes all other lines obsolete !!!! PLEASE POST A PIC OF THE UNWRAVELED LINE. Did you ck your rod to see if you have a bad guide ????

Based on the dicussion within this thread, I went out and bought Ultracast in the 80 and 65lbs size. So far, I have been impressed. Casts like a dream and does not retain water -- no more wet hands. I no longer have to put up with that irritating buzzing sound power pro makes. Likes like a winner to me.

The 80# Ultracast handles like a heavier line compared to the 80# Stealth. Diameter appears to be somewhat larger for the same # test. Overall I think that it is a better line, less likely to birdnest and much easier to pick loose than the Stealth. Durability seems much better too.

That said, I am really dissapointed with the "invisibility" that is claimed. The Invisibraid is just a fancy term for white in my opinion. Ther is nothing invisible or translucent about it. I will buy the green next time and get a little less contrast in the water.

For a fish looking up white is less visable than green is.

I totally agree with Reelman. From the fish's perspective, white is less visable than green. Also, white line can really help a strike indicator when fishing soft plastics such as Big Joes, Super Ds, etc. I've set the hook on a number of fish I never felt because I saw the line twitch or jump. It's really helped the guests in my boat, too. I've used alot 80# and 100# Tuf-Line Plus, which is white, but I'll be trying the Invisibraid this season. In my opinion, I'd rather have white line than "invisible" anyway.

Good observation from the musky's point of view and I did not consider it. Still think the claim of "patented translucency for near invisibility" is not very honest advertising. Maybe true for the lower # test stuff, but certainly not true on the 80#.

No doubt I will use up what I have left of the "stealth" braid and replace with "ultracast". Just may reconsider what color I buy. Could go with yellow and still have an advantage from the musky's point of view as well as my own.

i used this line for 2 days in a row and my thoughts on it are..
1st.it cast great!i caught myself a couple times not using my thumb.i didnt have a single backlash.now my friend on the other hand, had nothing but trouble.but,he`s just getting started on using a baitcaster.
2nd.i had some water still flying off.not much as power pro,but still present.
all in all,i this line on 2 of my rods.the rest will be getting equipt with it shortly.
i might even toss some on one of my bass rods.which have fireline
