| Keeping with the trend of new baits for 2008.....here is the final version of a trout I have been working on for quite some time. Another shad of similar style (detail) is nearly finished as well. As always any advice/criticisms is greatly appreciated.

| My advice would be to keep it up Nate. Great looking stuff. Probably only real advice I would have is to just keep making them more affordable than the california swimbaits out there if at all possible. I have been paying an arm and a leg for some of their swimbaits for years now and it's nice to see muskie guys jumping in and making more affordable baits. Shows how inflated the prices have been. Those 14" ciscos would cost $150 bucks I'd bet, if the bass guys came up with them and if they caught on big in the bass world first.
Picked up one of your baits at the show too Nate. Nice hefty lure too, not cheap plastic by any means. And my brother picked up one of Jeds baits for himself. Can't wait to try them out too. I'll post a pic when I do.
I've got a shad bait in the making too, speaking of which, because I finally got a new house with an actual "basement" in it to make baits in so I am getting back into the bait making game by trying to make one of these funky swimbaits for myself. We'll see how it goes. I can tell you one thing, it is probably going to be the one and only type of swimbait I make. What a pain in the arse this thing is. Hopefully it will at least swim. Ah well, it's fun for now and it can swim in my head until I try it out at least. |

| Nate I have to agree with toad, you are on the right track. I also picked some of yours up from the CHI show from Chae's booth. Price is good and that Bluegill is awesome in the water, the shad and perch look great too. I would like to see a slower sinking version of them for shallower situations but I understend the charachteristics of the material you are pouring and it needs the lead to work. | Nice work Nate! I noticed the tight joints first thing. The joints I make on segmented crankbaits aren't nearly as close fitting, what's the advantage of having them close together? I assume a tighter wiggle and aesthetics, am I missing something? Thanks, Duff |

| I like the way the Nate baits swim in the videos. They swim more naturally than some others that have looser joints and kick out 90 degrees.
In any case, Nate is doing some phenominal work! How the heck can he get them to look so good without some sort of precision machine doing the work? Keep it up, dude!!! |

Once you design the original all the ones thereafter will be identical.

It's easy for customers to want lower prices but if they had any idea how much work went into creating your baits they might not have an issue with paying a higher retail price. You've come a loooong way dude and deserve whatever money you charge for them. |

| Thanks for the compliments guys! As with my other baits this one is constructed out of a solid composite material, so it should pretty much last forever. Toad and Doug hope you enjoy your new baits if you ever need anything for them just get in touch with me. Duff I kept the joints tighter strictly for aesthetics (which was a pain in the butt to figure out the joint locations and number of sections to get the desired action) This bait has a very smooth swimming motion, much more so than my previous baits (along the same lines as a castaic platinum). Another new thing I am incorporating in to this bait is some varied sink rates (floater, slow sink, fast sink) and will be trying to work the same system into my other baits if I can find the time (busy semester ahead). Thanks again for the compliments if anyone has any more suggestions/questions regarding the bait itself, or paint schemes to try out I'd be more than happy to hear them.

| The top coat is with a really high end urethane. A couple of coats and its good to go.
BTW, do you guys think it works in a bright cisco pattern as well?

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | For cisco, I would rather see a silver/sharp grey color where the blue paint is...maybe have a small blue tint to it, but I would rather see it with silver and grey than blue. |

Location: Land of the Musky | Nate, Those look great! Any video? I think that lure is a great platform for some real cool paint jobs. Maybe put a little fopil or holo tape inside the joints so each time it wiggles it gives a little flash. Just an idea.
