I'm new to this site, thought I'd show some pics of some custom larger size creepers I just finished awhile ago, only got about 193 other customs to go before they are all assembled, these ones have hand cut arms ,as mostly all of my creepers do. I'll be posting them on the buy/sell /trade board as well, along with some other used stuff.

Very cool lures. How long does one of those take you to finish (hands on time)? Nice work!

Hands on? good question, I've never really figured that one out, but to just assemble 1 lure, with all the soldering, bending, polishing, making the hook post , the making of the arms,ect................. I would say a good couple hours+,
sometimes I make creepers that are'nt as blingy as these, which are'nt quite as time consuming.
thanks for the complements guys!

What kind of wood did you use for your large creepers? And how large is large?

I generally use cedar when I need hi buoyancy, and kiln dried wht pine is also a very buoyant wood as well. Either of these are good choices, the creepers you asked about were made of cedar.

Soldering just gives a much cleaner look, there are no cut wire ends to catch weeds on, and looping the line tie eye in the fashion I do keeps it in-line with the lure center better the a wrap would, is it ultimately stronger than a wrap, no, but it's just my personal preference, I solder them very thoroughly , and I've never in 17 years had a soldered joint fail, I think the rod, line, or lead will go before the soldered loop ,all in all, it's just a preference thing.
