Who has this rod and what range of lures does it work best for? Bucktails,Minnowbaits,Topwaters? What's the smallest lures you can comfortably throw?
Thanks,
Kurt

This blank was designed for baits up to 6 ounces. If you are looking for your first Diamondback this would be the best one to start with in my opinion.

It works very well for any of the double 10 baits. You would be able to throw smaller stuff with it but there are better Diamondback actions for that.

I have some of the diamondback heavies, the biggest things I throw are Mag Dawgs, I don't snap cast them it's more of a lob. Not a lot of snap left in me. I've thrown number 5 mepps Musky Killers and most crank baits. It works good for the large Suicks and Bobbies. It throws all the new large double bladed bucktails with ease. Mine were made by Keith at Professional Edge and Thornes, all are great rods but if you want a long rod, i.e. 8 1/2 or 9+ I would call Keith at Pro Edge, he's very knowledgeable. I've always said "Buy a muskie rod from a muskie fisherman".

The past three seasons I have used the 8'6 Diamondback Heavy rod. It throw everything from a small Llungen tail to big rubber baits like Mag Dawgs, large Curlie Sues, ect....

For three years, every cast, every bait, was made with ONE rod, an 8'6 Diamonback. Every cast...every bait.

It will throw everything in your box, trust me.

When you say heavy are you guys talking about the heavy bucktail? or the jerkbait blank? Correct me if I'm wrong but there are four powers... M, MH, H and Jerkbait.
