Here we go again...Another new Illinois musky record caught by a non-musky fisherman! It was 50 x 26 and weighed 38 pounds even on a certified scale. It was caught on a jig and a twister. It was caught below the dam at Lake Shelbyville.
As Spence Petros loves to say, "There ain't no justice"!!!

2 in a row by NON-Musky fishermen. [:(] [:((] [:blackeye:] . There is no justice, and to be totally honest I am going to hate hearing the story about how it was fighting like crazy and it broke his net, when I have trouble sometimes with Musky gear and Musky nets. No justice.

ToddM,
I think you nailed it on the head! I just thought of a great system to catch state records. I am going to start trolling Ball Park Hot Dogs with through wire constuction. That way the Musky will think it's some shore fisherman with a zebco $20 combo and definately eat it. I was thinking I could even cut out a little fish pattern on the hot dog and spray it with some Old Spice or something to throw them off even more. I think that would be more amazing than finding a cambell's soup can in a walleye's stomach, we'll let Mr. Worrall & Jason decide on that though. Just some pissed off humor![]

I was at that exact spot last week on two occasions...witnessed 5 muskies caught on KMart equipment...there I was with 2 G.Loomis Muskie Rods, Calcutta 400s, Lakewood Tacklebox full of $15 a piece lures...all I had to show for it was a 35" Muskie that hit a spring bull dawg...Life just isn't fair.

WHOA FELLA'S! He IS a musky fisherman...or so he claims. Read the article below. He says' he
had just bought 100 bucks worth of musky lures and was just fishing walleye's that day.

The ironic thing with this fish is that the brother of the guy who holds/held the current LAKE
record claims he had this spillway fish on a little over two weeks ago. He told me the story on
the 13th. These two brothers and the son of one are some musky-fishin'-son-of-guns!!!! I'm
proud to have them in our club.[]

^%$^%$#@&%#$&^(*)(^^#&!@#$%^&* !!!!. WITHOUT A NET!!!! Ahhhhhhh! Makes me want to cry, a 40 something inch fish is a challenge to get into my Beckman, let alone a 50"X26" fish on walleye gear and no net. The part about buying musky lures..lol I dunno that's nice it's just the idea of landing a fish that big on that gear in that situation.
