| OOPS... he updated it this morning. This is from Wednesday's report.
The people fishing on the Tundra over the weekend reported numerous Muskies sighted in seven different houses. One house seen 4 Muskies all different ones. That pretty much cleared Walleye off that reef for the weekend. I am really beginning to not like that species presence in this lake. It was ok when we had a Tullibee population to help support them, but now there gone and it's starting to affect traditional fishing patterns in the winter. I've seen it coming the last ten years in the areas we put our houses. I've been putting houses on these reefs for almost forty years and I've seen it change. No matter what the DNR says, it has. Is all the hype for Muskies really worth it when it disrupts the primary fishery that this lake has been famous for? I don't think so.

| eddy,
i understand your worries about mille lacs and its walleye fishery, your income depends on it. there are plenty of ciscoes in that lake, ask anyone who ice fishes the flats or anyone who was out there during the ciscoe spawn in fall.....my bulldawg will prolly tell you walleye fishing is slow because of the perch boom. they are well feed this year with millions of 2-3 inch perch. The muskies were there last year too and the walleye fishing was out of this world during spring/summer/fall and ice!! try not to blame the big fish so quickly without thinking of all the possibilities first. |

I have seen, bass, gills, perch and muskies all at the same time on my camera, I don't buy the blame a fish theory. My guess if patterns are changing its due to pressure or something human related. |

Muskie guys, last year Mille Lacs was pretty quiet after the new slot was put on the walleyes, but still plenty of guys filling up the resorts chasing muskies. Muskies are hurting nothing and only making "Eddies" and other resorts more money. |

Location: WI | Actually, this is Eddy Lyback, the owner of Lyback's fish house rentals near Wahkon. He only has his business running during the winter (to my knowlege) and rents out one cabin during the summer.
Still, I'm pretty suprised by this lame statement.

| Sounds like I better take some bucktails and vertical jig them in my fish house.
That is a joke.
