I'd like to get taxidermy-quality realism on a couple baits. Anyone interested in this work? and can you email me some sample photos? Just PM me. Thanks

Check with Kingfisher, he does a killer Lake Trout Pattern, I got a 12" Talonz Deep Threat from him in a Lake Trout pattern.  Here is a link that has a picture of the Lake Trout.

Tigger specializes in painting baits that are extremely close to the real thing. He also uses extremely high quality wood and components in each of his baits and I think the way he does the eyes for each one is truly remarkable.

My Lake trout is good but not exact with fins and such. The spots however are taken from an actual photo traced and cut out with an exacto knife then stenciled onto the body using a chameleon gold paint. here is a pattern on a 21 inch Deepthreat body. This was taken before assembly and clearcoating. The shades of olive can be lighter or darker depending on your preference. Mike King

Michelle did the stencil. We used several different pictures for the Little Claw,12,15 and 21 inch Deepthreats. I added some red spots on the little claw to make it into a Brookie. She likes doing that tedious stuff. Theway she does it is to lay a clear sheet over the pic and color in the spots or outline them if they are big enough. Then she cuts out each spot and we transfer that pattern to a piece of soft rubber that forms easily to the bait body. Then she cuts them out again and we have a washable stencil that will last for ever. She did the same with Pike and Crappie also a Salmon pattern for the 21 incher. Mike

I must say that kingfishers Lake Trout pattern is exceptionally nice! Honestly I'm too busy at the moment to take on any custom paint work but I do appreciate the mention.

Why thank you Mike, I feel a little warm and fuzzy. The credit really belongs to Michelle though she works for hours on those patterns. She has been downloading fish pictures for a couple years of Ciscos,Trout, Perch Bass , Crappies and such. I think her Crappie is the best one out there. Any way thanks again for the compliment. We try to take production painting to a higher level. Kingfisher
