I've heard so much about the Okuma Induron that I might have to try one out this year. It sounds like the upgraded power handle is nice, but what about the stock double paddle handles? Are they long enough to give decent power, and are the grips easy to hold onto with wet hands? I put a Calcutta double paddle handle on my Gander MTN. GS 66 and really like it. I don't expect many reels to have that long of a handle, or paddles that big, but how does it compare?

Does it have soft rubber handles that are tacky enough and big enough to grip fairly easily?

Thanks!

I haven't used one with the stock handle on it, but based on looking at it, it looks good. It's got soft padded rubber handles, so it would seem to be decent on wet days. They are bigger paddles on the handle that the Garcias have on them.

I know it's not much, but it's a start for ya.

Thanks for the quick reply, that's helpful info. The stock grips that came on my GS 66 were fairly small, but the worst part was they weren't soft rubber grips - they were more like hard plastic. Should have seen my hand slipping off that handle on a rainy day just after I got a smidge of Hot Sauce on my hands...
I'd be happy to hear any more comments!

Been in contact with Mark over at Okuma with a similar question. I like the reports on the Induron (and the customer service, thanks again Mark!), but my only qualm with the reel was the double paddle handle. After a season using the power double paddle handles Daiwa puts on its Lunas, I won't go back. So I inquired as to whether or not the Induron could be fitted with Okuma's power double paddle handle that is going on the Isis (would make a crazy color combo but whatever) and Mark's response was "yes." However, for a few bucks more I might just buy the Isis and not have to worry about fitting parts onto the Induron (plus the red and gold, aesthetically, is pretty sweet).

Mark will probably see this and help you out.
