| with the price of good steak at $8 a pound, the price of the privelage, of being able to eat some of the fish you catch really cheap. i'm proud to say i've hunted muskie for 30 years and have never tasted thier flesh. it makes me think that each muskie i return, to be my future trophy picture, may be in somebodys skillet tomorrow. come in annomous,be honest, and tell if you still eat these animals that make our lives so full of thought. keep em wet not oiled.[8)] | |

| The WI DNR Consumption Advisories state that NO muskies should be eaten because of their extremely high mercury content. It also warns women who are preagnant or plan to become preagnant NOT to eat any.
So, my take on it, let 'em eat some if they want to. It's just natures way of thinning the stupid out of the herd.

| I'm old and I can say I have eaten Musky. That was more then 30 years ago.Tast like a Northern . [] | |

| In Boulder Junction they have a day called Musky Day. Pretty much its just to award the trophy for largest fish in the area, lots of shops, music, food and the chance to eat musky. A local taxidermist keeps the muskies meat from his recent projects and donates them to the local "Day". I can't remember how much a piece is because I have yet to buy one, however, this is almost like trying to get people to keep musky because if it tastes good, they'll most likely want more.
What do you guys think about this "Day" of eating Musky?

| Hold on while I get behind this table,,,, []
All right I'll be the 1st to admit it, I have eaten muskie.
The kids and I were on a lake with a 34" min.,,, so it was a legal fish,,,, The fish were moving pretty good that day, we had 2 muskies in the boat as well as a 34" northern and a 18" sm. Ryan 9 at the time caught his 2nd 38"er of the day, it was pretty warm out but we had not had any trouble releasing any of the other fish to that point. This fish was treated the same as we always do,,, leaving the fish in the holding pen, in the water and remove the hooks. After a quick picture the fish began to flop on him so he pushed it out of his arms and into the lake, it swam off quickly. We hung around for a while and then returned back to trolling. On our next pass back through that same area we saw it belly up,, we worked her hard but no dice,, so we kept it,,, not too bad actually. don't beat on me too bad,, can I come out yet?? [:halo:] [] sorry tech 2nd to confess

| Once, when much younger, way more ignorant, and pretty drunk at the time, I kept a just-legal musky from a numbers lake. Tasted just like pike. | |

| Jason, Dave Dorazio is a loon! He told me that muskie tastes almost as good as Bald Eagle if it is prepared right!![] | |

| It seems to me that if a fish absolutely won't revive after being caught, despite all attempts, eating it wouldn't be a terrible thing. The alternative in that case is the fish will just rot anyway and that, to me, would be more of a waste. Ideally, we revive all we catch to be fished for another day, but things don't always work out as planned. | |

| Actually, I use musky chunks in my spotted owl stuffing. Tastes like chicken.[;)] | |

| SVL, I have heard that Bald Eagle is best with Loon Gravy. LOL
Keep lettin' 'em go for the kids to catch.....Mike

| You've got it all wrong. It's spotted owl with loon gravey and bald eagle with baby seal brain jelly. | |

| Don't forget to decorate the table with some Ivory from Elephant's trunks. It adds to the whole experience. | |

| Mix w/ the rare Roanoke River Basin Log Perch + serve it piping hot on a scrimshaw platter....great w/ a side of bite size baby Beluga whale tail on a California 2,000 yr. old redwood picnic table in the Amazon rain forest...don't forget to bring a chainsaw for the Teakwood tree cutting contest + bring along a 12 gauge for the Amazon Parrot Pop![:sun:] | |
