Location: saint paul, mn | how are people storing their release tools? I have a plano full of all mine and not sure if that is the best way, I have tried putting them in the uter pockets of my tackle bag, but they just slide around. Any suggestions and especially pics of how you have release equipment situated when fishing
thanks in advance

| Mine all have a cord tied to them and duct taped just as an extra measure. On the end there is a snap that I can run through a rod holder, boat cleat, etc and snap back to the line so they don't decide to go for a swim. When I'm fishing these are hooked to the boat cleats from the get go so I'm not fumbling for them. Hook cutter is tied to a boat cleat, 1 oversized needlenose pliers is tied to boat cleat. Linesman pliers is in pocket and typically tied to a belt loop, 2nd needlenose is in pocket or tied to belt loop.
When I am done fishing I give this stuff a quick shot of WD40 so they don't start to rust, unhook them, wrap them up and stash them in a small plano. I try to bury my net under every tackle box I have because the more it is buried and a bear to get out the more certain you are to use it. However, if I am fishing by myself I rarely will net a fish. Just release them quickly at boatside and away they go.
The beauty of not having stuff that can be moved on and off of my boat is that when I fish from shore I just strap the stuff on to a couple of belt loops and pocket it and I'm good to go. Plus when I hop into a flatbottomed boat I've got sitting around for real real skinny water I'm not eating up a ton of time undoing everything in the bigger boat.

Location: oswego, il | I keep mine in a 3700 something sereis plano box. I keep them easily accessable in the boat, not hidden below deck.
