Was thinking about getting the 101 Terrova.

Did any of you use this trolling motor last year? Any issues or problems?

Thanks in advance.

Got one last spring, lotta power. Like it overall, but the pedal is a bit big and cumbersome...... Wish it was the AP pedal. One problem I found was with the added power, I would use it in bigger waves and even with a 60" shaft I'd be suckin' air (Mille Lacs of course). The only problem I had with it was by the end of the season it had gotten kind of sloppy in the upper drive (left/right power steering). Had the drive replaced under warranty. Looking forward to using it this year.

Overall I'd give it 2 thumbs up.

Erik

P.S. You may want to color in the lights on it with permanent marker if you like to night fish....they're too bright.

LOL X 10,000. The first day/night I had mine on the water, I had to put band-aids on the lights. Blinding!!!! I had been running a Maxxum for many years, but was impressed with the Terrova. Like Erik said, lots of power. I really came to appreciate the low profile pedal and the mobility with the long cord as well. There are days I wish it had an 8' shaft, but that might create storage issues! Overall I was very pleased. Must install a Ram trolling motor stabilizer though to prevent the constant jarring of the head on the road and on water. A little preventative medicine. Steve

got to run this a couple times last year on a demo. The lights are too bright but easily fixed. I know people like their cable steer maxxums but auto pilot is where its at especially if you fish by yourself. I would recommend them for sure.

i'm hoping to find the jingle to upgrade to a 101 for this year and love-hate my cable unit. still leaning hard on the maxam-pro 101 but hope to hear more about experiences with the terrova ... main concern here is how to approach treachurous stumps and rocks with a terrova vs. the convenience of pulling the rope and having the ability to dig through the crud when in trouble ... keep the comments flowing guys ...

thanks

I have the 80 on my boat and love the thing. The only issue I've had is it seems to make a rattling noise when stowed and the big motor is running, but I think that is the MK-16 quick release not so much the troling motor. Anybody else have that issue? Did you do anthing to fix it?

Put one on a 619 last year. The 36 volt with built in sonar was amazing. Used it in 3 footers all day last summer on Eagle in Canada and had plenty of battery left. It was tough spending the extra money for the extra power but well worth it. I had an autopilot 24 volt on the same boat prior to the upgrade and it's night and day different. I hooked up a Lowrance LCX-27C to the Terrova...Sweet!

If they could put the Terova unit on a MaxPro bracket it would be perfect. One hand deploy with autopilot, I would buy one.....
