| I picked 50%. I fished for Muskies 10 times last year. I had 4 strikes and boated all 4 fish. Nothing big though. Next year I plan on concentrating my efforts toward bigger fish instead of numbers, by using larger baits more often. It seems to work for my brother. He caught 60 or 61 Muskies this year and at least 19 of them were 49 inches or larger, including 10 or 11 fifty inchers. Wish me luck. |

Location: Richland Center, WI. | I have found in the last year that my fishing for panfish, walleye and bass has suffered due to the fact that all I want to do is fish for musky! Had a terrible year in 2007 with no fish caught but did see some so it was not a total loss. I am trying to catch up with the panfish during ice fishing but still feel the majority of my fishing will be for musky once the season opens. I will publicly appologize to my kids here for the musky fever but hey kids, one musky and you will be hooked too! Right Nathan? |

Location: Illinois | 95%. I do some ice fishing for panfish and northern. This upcoming year I'd like to try for some Salmon and if that goes well then I might become a 90/10 type.

Location: northern Maine | 65% of the time for muskie, the other 35% I fish for wild brookies or landlocked salmon especially after ice out . Brookies and salmon are the primary fish in this area, muskie are the fish of an illegal stocking some 30 years ago so they are a new fish in this area . love your forum for info on this fish dan

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | When the season opens, it's 100% muskies, unless the fishing gets really slow...then I'll wade into some weeds and catch some bass for a while, just to take the edge off, then head back to the real fish. Walleyes happen only on trips that are targeted specifically for them, and that is usually before Muskie season starts.

| I plugged 95%....possibly a bit less, but doubtful. Once the ice leaves Winnebago, I get in on the early walleye bite (not a river rat...find the fish that don't run the river). During the month of May, I spend time on the water up in Iron county and fish walleyes for a short stretch...once the green light goes on for muskies, the walleye gear begins the cob web gathering process. |

| I only went 30% muskies ... but that's b/c I don't own a boat (yet) ... so most of my time fishing is for more accessible species like retention pond bass, river smallies and catfish (30lb carp on 6lb test line is fun too!) I can't afford to rent boats or constantly hire guides, so muskie fishing is more of a special occasion thing for me.
now if you ask me what ratio my investments are muskie vs other species ... it's more like 75% muskies as they are my favorite fish to target! |

| most years it's been 95% muskie, even thru the summer doldrums. But last season I fished muskies in the spring and fall, and spent most of the summer trying to learn how to catch walleyes. So last season 15% muskies and the rest walleye. |

Location: oswego, il | I took about two hours and bass fished a local lake near my house. High water and I wanted to see if this catch and release only lake recovered from being overharvested. Poachers who did not even care the lake was posted catch and release. It had, I caught nine bass and lost two. That was the only time I did not fish for muskies this past year.

Location: Browerville, Minnesota | 85% of the time. Now that my kids are getting a little older, I spend more time taking them out after pannies. My youngest son is becoming a HUGE muskie nut, so hopefully that % will increase! |
