| Any tips on spraying this stuff?
No matter what I spray it on (primer, paint, bare wood, etc) I get little dimples where the paint doesnt adhere.
I've tried varying pressure from very high to very low, and it doesn't seem to matter.
Does the paint need to be scuffed between coats?

Location: Oregon | Sounds like you have some kind of contamination on the surface you are painting. Make sure the paint surface is clean. Some water based paints just go on thin too and will require a second or third coat to really get a dark color.

Location: Freedom, WI | Baldy - I had that happen recently and am not sure what caused it, it's a color that never gave me any trouble before. I wiped it down and it helped, I also added a filter to my line to trap any contamination. Some candy colors do that and I add transparent base to make it go away on them. Mine looked like what they call fish eyeing and was told it was caused by oil. Still not sure what caused it though. |

| what can I wipe the bait down with that will remove oil, but will not smear the paint that is already on there? |

Location: Bemidji, MN | I have found that the autoair is very picky about temperature. It seems like I get fish eyes and stuff if I try to spray it much below 65 degrees. |

Location: Muskoka Ontario,Canada | I definitely suggest spraying in very light coats and in particular the first one. For a good base coat spray enough that you have a mottled effect and not full coverage. Heat set it with a heat gun or blow dryer between coats. This is important. Do not spray coats that are wet on wet or you will not have good adhesion.
I strongly recommend the newest Auto Air 4011 series reducers also. |
