| I used the 8' MH Shim TDR for a couple seasons and thought it was OK. Pulled smaller baits (Stalkers, 6" jointed baits, Lil' Ernies, etc) well, too much flex with the bigger baits. If I bought the TDRs again I might go with a heavy power rod instead. Good rod for the money though. |

| Along the same line as the TDRs (Great rods, too) are Cabela's DepthMasters in their 8'0 Dipsey Diver action. They handle Plows, 10" Hookers, 14" Jakes, 13" Beleivers plus all the smaller 8 and 10 inch lures. Cabelas normally runs deals where you can get a Depthmaster rod plus a reel in a combo. I have Daiwa LCA 47's on them, the price was right and they work well. St. Croix's glass composite 8 footers are a step up and nice rods too. The Cabelas are two-piece. |
