Does anyone know of a rod building class in Minnesota. I thought that last year someone had put on a class where you built your own rod as you learned. Any help??????

Yep...

Each year, Gary Wick will put on a class for building Musky rods. I did it last march/april and loved it. I am planning on doing it again. Cost of the materials is only like $110 and when you are done, the rod is probably around a $300 - $400 rod if you do a good job at it.

Check the hastings community education website for updates. The last class was on december 1st. There will be another one coming in the spring too..

Sweet! That is exactly what I was looking for! I will find it on the Hastings site if possible and sign up! Do you know if he will post it on the boards as well?

I live in Hastings, so when our new community ed catalog comes out, I'll post it and a link to the registration. I'm thinking of doing it again. I really like the rod!!

Bret,
Gary is a very nice guy as well and really knows his stuff. Check out his new 8'6" blank. Very nice blank of his own design and manufacture. Some of the top buiders out there get supplies from Gary. Good luck and have fun! Steve
