| I know this has been beaten to death before. I've done a search on the rods and didn't come up with the info I was looking for.
So it's apparent the rod can throw big blades and dawgs really well. How about OTHER baits? Can it RIP crank baits, or is there too much flex? What is the "range" of this rod? I'm looking at the 8'6" Super Mag. Too much backbone for topwater? |

| if you plan on using one of these rods for bucktails and topwaters, then expect to lose a few fish.
I wouldn't use them for nothing but throwing LARGE rubber baits, like the pounder or the biggest Suzie Sucker and Curly Sue. Not the Mag's.
These rods are good for two things, LARGE RUBBER and Sucker fishing.

Location: South Portsmouth, KY | I have the 8'6 Super Mag rod and honestly, the pounders and even mag dawgs seem really heavy with this rod. I know this rod was made especially for throwing pounders but its feels like almost that the rod is rated for 1-8oz lures instead of 16 ounces. My 8'6 feels sorta unbalanced maybe because it becomes end heavy. I have used this rod for my cowgirls but it dont really have enough whip to get the bait out there. Just my experience with this rod. Experiment around you might like it. |

| ive got the 7'6" super mag rod. and it makes throwin mag dawgs and ripping 10" jakes very easy. but thats all i use it for. i tired using it for cowgirls, not a good idea. but for mag dawgs and jakes its a good rod. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | sean, if you are in shelbyville you can use my 8'6" MAG. it barely flexes under my secret swimbaits. i would not go super mag unless you plan to throw pounders. |
