Looking for any advice/suggestions on new rod. For BIG baits, Double X's, Pounders, etc... Price range, $300ish.

I would go with the St. Croix big dog rod! This rod will throw all of thee above.

i would go with a bulldawg rod. they are not as light as the st. croix but talk about a brute. i have the magnum swimbait which is rated 2-10 and i have thrown 15 oz baits on it with little flex. also they are available up to 8.5' for really making long casts. they are about 170-200 depending on model and store

Regarding the bulldawg rod: would the xh handle the oversized baits as well as the xxh, while being a little more versitile rod...? Or is the xxh fairly versitile?
