| Pass on my congratulations to Denise. That is an awesome fish and a cool story. I sent the link to my wife. I'm sure she'll read it and be a bit envious, as well as frustrated with me. I haven't yet been able to put her on a big one (40+) and I guide Mille Lacs. Hopefully the story will motivate her to hang in there and keep trying until it happens. Thanks for sharing the story. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | great story ... well told and what an impressive fish. another testimonial for the relative size and measurements of true giants. congratulations to both of you. now the question? ... do you continue to go to Georgian Bay to repeat? does this change your goals to achieve at that level? ... i'm always curious for how catching a true giant might change the perspective of future ... do you go try to play a different game at the highest level? ...

Those are all such great questions. This was our sixth trip to Georgian Bay with Jodi. Of course there are many waters that have giant potential, but Georgian Bay is in the smaller sub set of those waters that offers the chance to get a bait in front of a fish that possible has never seen one before, or to put your boat over structure that possible has never been fished before. To us, that is the lure of Georgian Bay. Seeing a fish that big is just awesome and I can't see a year go by where I am not at some point fishing water where fish that size swim. Having said that, we have a home on Big Sand Lake, Vilas County, and spend most of our time fishing Big Sand and other lakes. We have caught a few in the 30 pound class range, but of course we have to adjust our expectations. There might be some giants still swimming in those waters, but I doubt there are any that have never seen a bait. I think what Tom Gelb has done over the last 12 months is nothing short of amazing. |

| Awesome fish Denise and Sean, what a monster and a truly great story. Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are simply beautiful and it is low density water but you do get a nice fish once in awhile, sometimes just like that!
